The sun and moon were volatile. They didn't understand one another for they were opposites. Heli, between them, maintained a balance.
The world flourished around the three and their eight children. Such natures could not continue with such differing minds and Conflict was born. In all things, those with like minds, unite. Alliance took its place.
The most intense disputes were between Heli's two wives. Torn between them and seeking the peace of resolve, Heli left the worlds of things and returned to his moonfire. This stranded Calcine and Violaceous on the world with the eight, for they had not yet learned how to imagine themselves away, back to their moon and sun.
Using their thoughts they called out to Heli and prayer was born. Both had their own fury, their own longing, their own bliss, and as it was, their own jealousy and hate brewing.
Heli turned from the prayers, the pleas, and dreamed. He imagined one of both wives. How bright with the sun this being would be, how mysterious with the dark. There had been fire and earth, with Calcine. There had been air and water with Violaceous. But what would all three create? What would it be?
As Heli dreamed contention and congruity were alive in the world. His far away family created war, created strategy, created deceit, created union, created capitulation, created truth. The seeds had been planted at their birth, in their very beings but living together made the roots take hold and the reality grow.
Love bonded, lust demanded, joy united and grief punished.
Heli, far from the turmoil, went to the moon where Violaceous could not return, and gather to him her dark energy. Then he went to the sun where Calcine could not go and there he gathered some of her bright power. He took the energy to the moonfire where he used some of his own magic and Heli began to mold and form the energy.
From the world the cacophony was maddening. If it wasn't Violaceous it was Calcine. If not her then one or two or three of the children, all calling to him, all demanding him, all clamoring. Heli tried to imagine them quiet as he worked but he could not.
He thought to Calcine and Violaceous how to leave the world, go to the sun, go to the moon, leave the children and find peace from their beginning. He was sure they would return to their own, just as he had, but he was mistaken.
Both the sun and moon wanted to say their piece, wanted to take his time, wanted to send the other home. Heli, in the manner of dreamers, ignored them and continued his creation. The energy would not stay where he put it. It would hold for a moment then destabilize and change into something else. A puzzle, this power, and Heli determinedly tried to shape it. The harder he tried the more chaotic it became.
Calcine and Violaceous both realized that he had taken some of their energy and both thought if they took theirs from the mix, only for a moment, Heli would hear them. This thought was simultaneous and they both tugged at the creation. At that instant all three hands were on the chaotic mass and in that touch the energy began to spin.
It moved so fast that they all had to let go. Corners and edges, smooth and rough, soft and hard, brittle and elastic, the being was born. High into the forever the creation went. The three watched it as it first soared then plummeted then vanished.
Violaceous was surprised, Calcine was sorry and Heli was just curious.
From order comes sequence, from sequence comes pattern, from pattern comes rhythm, from rhythm comes release, from release comes chaos.
"Havok." Heli names the ninth, "In confusion and freedom you are given to the world."
Heli left the moonfire to seek out their latest child to see what manner of being they had created. The sun and moon went with him. For a while the two were subdued, for they sensed they should not have handled Heli's creation as they had.
