Far to the east the moon cast it's pale glow into the great dark. Violaceous felt the power to the west and wondered. Who and what, why and where? But she could not imagine herself into being for Heli was the dreamer. Wave after wave of energy flowed from the west and Violaceous grew anxious then angry, then cold. In her dark chill she thought to the west...."I want." Heli felt the thought, heard the demand. He told Calcine of the moon so far to the east, alone, in want, and Calcine felt compassion. The sun goddess knew of this emptiness known as loneliness. Heli said he would think himself into the east and know this dark wonderer.
So the god of moonfire left the land of his first wife and his first born and traveled to the east where the glimmering dark of the moon made him yearn in ways he had not known before.
Violaceous tried to see him, but had no eyes. She tried to tempt him, but had no body. She ached to hold him, but had no arms. "Think yourself into being." Heli said in words that were the songs of birds, the thrum of harmonics. He showed her images of Calcine, of their children and from this being came a wash of dark envy. "Help me." was her wordless cry, and Heli did.
From the moon came bone and hair, flesh and blood, a woman with haunting beauty. "I want." she said in a voice like the rushing waves, the flute of the world.
With her new arms she pulled him to her, with her new mouth she tasted him and in this new need they joined.
"Teach me." And he did.
From coupling comes breath, from breath words, from words promises.
Lip to mouth they breath together, lungs aching, life rushing, throats moaning, the children of the air were born.
"Mariah." Heli names the fifth, "In song and freedom you are given to the world."
"Zypher." Violaceous names the sixth, "In a shriek of freedom, you are given to the world."
Across etournity the wind blew, to the north it flew to find where fire and earth lived. Funneling and howling, whispering and calling, they joined their siblings.
Heli lay with his dark wife, murmuring that he must go to his sun wife, and telling the moon goddess of the place he and Calcine had created. Violaceous began to weep, her tears diamonds in the moonlight. She wept with jealousy and sorrow, with anger and reproach, with love and fear. Skin to skin, cheek to cheek, palm to palm, Heli tried to comfort her.
Her tears drew his tears and in this joining water was born.
From emotion comes feelings, from feeling comes grief and love, joy and hate, laughter and tears. A mingling of the blood of the world.
"Mist." Heli names the seventh, "In tears and freedom you are given to the world."
"Torrent." Violaceous names the eighth, "In blood and freedom you are given to the world."
Pouring, rushing, spilling, raining, waves of life washed the world.
"Show me." Violaceous says and Heli took her hand to guide her to this land of fire, air, water and earth to meet his sun wife.
