Olandar

Olendar is the land of the sun goddess, Calcine. it is the most western region with the mists to the south, the Sea of Tears to the north, and Tellus on the eastern border. It has one river on the western edge called The Red River. It gets this name from the clay banks that gives the water a red tinge.
Olendar is never completely dark. The bold sun burns night and day. In the evening hours the sun descends to the western rim of the world, only half way sinking below the horizon. This dims Olendar but never casts it into complete darkness. The windows of the homes and shops have black out curtains, so they can escape Calcine's light when they choose.
The crops are abundant, harvesting twice a year. They grow corn and wheat, soy beans and alfalfa. They grow dozens of vegetables and fruits. Almost every home has a garden and it has more farmland than any other land in the world. They raise animals and Olendar is said to have the most luxurious cashmere and supple leather in the whole of Dimension 13.
They trade food, leather, wool and animals. They are a peaceful people who believe in home and hearth, in fun and family.
Olendar has had many rulers and suffered many disasters. She wears her scars with pride and her people remain brave and true. Though Olendar's government has never been stable the people have always been willing to do more than their share of work to obtain a safe place for their families to grow and thrive. There are no orphans in Olendar, the doors of every home stay open. there is no hunger, the tables always have an empty place for a stranger. They give without expecting, they help without hesitation, they honor without guile and they prosper without deceit.
If you are homeless, they will house you, grieving they will try to ease you. If you are ailing, they will nurse you, if you are thieving, they will hang you and if you harm them, they will unite and hunt you down. In their land it's best to respect their parents, use manners with their women, admire their animals and enjoy their hospitality. To Olendarions family is sacred and they will do anything to keep them happy and safe. Even if it means they have to fight to do it. Even if it means they have to kill to do it. Even if it means they have to die to do it.
